Overview: The Qur’an rejects the belief that Jesus is God (see Surah 5:72), emphasizing a clear distinction between Almighty God and all of creation. As a result, Muhammad firmly dismissed the concept of the Trinity—though his understanding was influenced by nontraditional interpretations—because he could not accept it from any other perspective
